Workshop on “Psycho-social skills”
To develop helping and considerate skills among students
while tackling pandemic situations appropriately, Innocent Hearts Group of
Institutions organized a workshop on topic “Psycho-social skills of a Good
Helper”. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. KritikaPunia(Team
Member,Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education). Ms. Nidhi Sharma
(HOD, MLS) welcomed the guest speaker. Group Director Dr.ShaileshTripathiemphasised
the importance of this workshop in the crisis and focused on how empathy can
support and rescue life in the current scenario of pandemic. Ms. Kritika
acquainted the students with qualities of a good helper. She stated that a good
helper first has to identify the behaviour, feelings and thoughts of clients
bylistening them attentively. Then show empathy towards them, support them with
positive attitude and motivate them to take right decision.All tools of empathy
will help them to become self-reliant. During the session, She conducted the
role play and group activity with students to demonstrate the behaviour of a
good helper. She also focused on validating the client information and
providing them practical advice to solve their problems. The session was very
interactive as students actively participated and respond positively in role
play activities to learn the qualities of good helper. Dr.ShaileshTripathi
stated that thisonline session enables the students to heal psychological
wounds of covid patients and helps them to stay away from stress and anxiety
during the pandemic.
