Webinar organized on “Safe Maternal and New-born Care”

School of Medical Lab Science of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions
organized a webinar on topic “Safe Maternal and New-born Care” on the eve of
World Patient Safety Day.
Resource Person for the
webinar was Dr. Anuradha Bansal (MD Paediatrics, PIMS Hospital, Jalandhar).
The session started with a welcome
speech by Ms. Nidhi Sharma (Head, School of MLS).
Dr. Anuradha enlighten the students
regarding the safety measures that each woman has to follow during pregnancy,
for good health of new born & herself. She focused on healthy diet plan,
MMR vaccination and folic acid prior to conceiving for a healthy pregnancy and
childbirth in future. The importance of hand washing and exclusive
breastfeeding was discussed for new born safety.
Students curiously asked
question regarding MMR vaccination, breast milk storage and care of new born
which were duly answered in this interactive session by the resource person.
The vote of thanks was extended by
Ms. Nidhi (Head, School of MLS). She stated that this webinar aims to minimise
unnecessary risks to women and new born during delivery time.
